For Parents · Build Your Best Life™
Your player is preparing for more than the next game, season, team, college, or career.
They're preparing for life.
Project OTY gives young adults a structured space to step away from the noise, think about who they are, determine what they want from their future, and build a practical Roadmap for getting there.
Personal Leadership • Confidence • Accountability • Life Navigation
Why Project OTY
Growing up has never been simple.
Today, young adults are navigating an extraordinary amount of information, opportunity, pressure, comparison, uncertainty, technology, expectations, and change.
At the same time, they're being asked some very big questions:
But before young people can confidently answer those questions, there are even more important questions worth exploring:
Project OTY gives young adults something increasingly rare:
Time and structure to think.
Not to tell them what their future should look like.
To help them determine it for themselves.

In Life
Athletes already understand something powerful:
Success rarely happens by accident.
Project OTY helps young adults apply that same mindset to their lives.

Who It's For
Project OTY is designed for young adults navigating the years when life begins changing quickly.
Thinking about life beyond the next season.
Considering college, training, work, or other possibilities.
Not sure yet what comes next — and that's okay.
Has goals but wants greater clarity about how to reach them.
Ready to build confidence, accountability, and leadership skills.
Learning how to make increasingly independent decisions.

They do not need to have their future figured out.
That's the point.
Project OTY meets young adults where they are and helps them think more intentionally about where they want to go.
How It Works
Project OTY isn't another class telling young adults what they should know.
It's an interactive experience that gets them thinking.

What They Gain
Project OTY helps develop capabilities young adults can carry into college, work, relationships, athletics, and life.
Better understand themselves and feel more prepared for what's ahead.
Recognize strengths, motivations, fears, habits, and opportunities for growth.
Understand that leadership begins with how they lead themselves.
Learn to take ownership of decisions, actions, goals, and outcomes.
Move from “I don't know” toward clearer possibilities and next steps.
Think beyond immediate choices and consider the bigger picture.
Turn ideas and dreams into measurable steps.
Recognize that plans change — and learn how to adjust rather than quit.
Become better able to articulate what they want, need, value, and hope to achieve.
Identify the coaches, parents, teachers, mentors, friends, and others who can help.
Better understand what makes them uniquely valuable.
Begin thinking beyond the next semester, season, or decision.
The goal isn't to give young adults all the answers. It's to help them become better at finding their own.
Safety & Trust
Project OTY was designed to empower young adults — not define them. The experience asks thoughtful questions and provides a framework for reflection.
The learner does the thinking.
The learner creates the vision.
The learner determines what success means.
The learner identifies their goals.
The learner builds their Roadmap.
We don't tell young adults who they should become.
We help them think more deeply about who they want to become.
Project OTY doesn't assign a career, personality type, life path, or definition of success.
Project OTY is a personal leadership and life-navigation experience. It is not therapy, counseling, psychological treatment, or medical care.
Technology helps organize the experience, but the purpose is to strengthen human thinking, reflection, relationships, and support.
Questions are designed to encourage healthy reflection about strengths, goals, leadership, choices, support, and the future.
Parents and participating organizations should be able to clearly understand what the program does, why it exists, and how information is used.
Young adults are encouraged to take greater ownership of their decisions rather than becoming dependent on technology or someone else's answers.
Privacy, Data & Sharing
Parents should know how their young adult's information is handled.
So should every learner.
Project OTY doesn't replace the important people in a young adult's life.
It helps young adults engage those people more intentionally.
Social Proof
96%
of participants have reported feeling more confident about their future.
“I enjoyed reaching out to my friends and family asking them what they thought my unique strengths were. Their feedback was super confidence boosting.”
“I liked being able to take a step back and look at myself and the future paths I want to take.”
“To be able to see things about yourself that other people might see in you that you don't always see. To have a better plan for your life — personally or professionally.”
“The Build Your Best Life Roadmap curriculum ties together so much of what we are trying to accomplish, to get young people to consider, create, and take responsibility for who they want to be and how they can get there.”
“It doesn't matter who you are. It starts with where you're at currently and walks you through a process of defining where you want to go.”
“After completing Project OTY... I heard more students say that they felt better prepared to face their future.”
“Project OTY is the most comprehensive solution I've seen for developing future-ready young adults.”

A Message From Our Founder
Hi, I'm Jeff Otis.
Long before Project OTY, I was an athlete.
I grew up in Oregon playing sports and eventually became a Division I baseball player at Oregon State University. Like many young athletes, I had a picture in my head of where life was going.
I wanted to play professional baseball.
Then an arm injury changed that plan.
Very quickly, I had to begin answering a much bigger question:
Now what?
That experience stayed with me.
Over the next 30+ years, I built companies, led thousands of people, coached young adults, raised three daughters, and spent countless hours talking with leaders, educators, parents, employees, students, and athletes.
And I kept seeing the same challenge.
We spend enormous amounts of time preparing young people academically and athletically.
But somewhere along the way, we assume they'll figure out how to navigate life.
Those questions became the foundation for Project OTY.
I didn't build Project OTY to tell young people what to do with their lives.
I built it to help them become more confident in figuring that out for themselves.
As a father, coach, former athlete, and leader, that's the outcome I care about most.
Help young people build the confidence to lead their own lives — while knowing they don't have to navigate them alone.

Parents Still Matter
One of the hardest transitions for parents is knowing when to lead, when to coach, when to ask questions, and when to let a young adult find their own answer.
Project OTY can create a healthier starting point for those conversations.
Instead of
“What are you going to do with your life?”
Imagine asking
Project OTY can give young adults language for conversations they may not otherwise know how to start.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can give a young adult isn't an answer.
It's the confidence and support to discover their own.
